Rocky Holman recorded but two singles in the late 50s/early 60s, one with Mort Wise And The Wisemen, a cover of Eden Ahbez’s ‘Wild Boy’ (Which Eden never actually released himself) complete with jungle noises and some crazed uptempo rhythms. Mort Wise slipped into obscurity and we can safely say he is not the “Amateur photographer, traveller and family man” listed on Facebook. Meanwhile, the legendary Esquivel covered ‘Nature Boy’ as did Nat King Cole and Chess alumni Ahamad Jamal (check that one out, it’s finger clicking jazz).
