The Blasts’ weird and moaning ‘Canaveral Rock’ was the flipside to Sharpe And Kerlin’s cut-up comedy disc ‘The Big Goof’ about failed space missions. Released in 1958, the A-side is a bit of tongue-in-cheek nonsense but The Blasts’ track is a gem, a moody and evocative 45 that Lux and Ivy would have loved.
